(( Lolita's update is below if you'd rather just scroll down ))
2 years ago today we started our Life here In LaSalle on St. Vincent Avenue.
I still remember how scary it was to be in a whole new area far from everything we were use too. So many of you made it possible for us to find this house and you helped get it livable. We will never forget the help we got!! We think of so many of you every time we look around our home!! We NEVER EVER would of made it during that horrible time without so many of you.. and with out all the prayers and good wishes too!! Those 17 days we spent with no home were something I will never forget and I hope I NEVER have to go through anything like that again!!!
The Girls spent so much of their time during that 17 days in the Van as we searched for a place to live. They were So good!!
The day we took the girls out to see their new home!!
We had no idea what was ahead for us. Paul had no job, We had barely any belongings.. It was a really hard time!!
We still love our house. We just wish we had a Fenced in Yard. For those of you who gave a bit of money for the "Fence Fund" please know its still waiting..
Problem is.. we need between $1,500 and $1,700 to get it done.
We just have not had the extra money to put to this. We just can't get far enough ahead in our lives to have it done... .but we sure HOPE this Spring will be the time!!
Thank you to every single person who helps us from time to time too.
We are doing pretty good on our own over all.. but some times just a couple bags of Food or some Pill Pockets for the girls or Bird seed can really make things go a bit smoother!!! ALL help is greatly appreciated!!
Lolita Up Date
We are just about at 6 months now since we were told that Lolita May have Lymph Node Cancer....
Right now she is on a very low dose of Prednisone. I am sad to have to say the Lump on her Neck HAS gotten quite a bit bigger since she was off the FULL dose of Medication~~ But honestly... thats about the ONLY thing I can say that has changed.
Lolita is exactly the same as she was in September when we first found the Lump... She is the same as she's been for the past 12 months really...
She still eats great, She acts fine, She loves to go for Rides, she loves going to the Dog Park.. Her weight has been between 71 & 74 for a year....
If she didn't have the lump on her neck I would NEVER think anything was wrong with her.
Yes, the Pred some times makes her have to pee more ... and she does pant a bit more since taking it... but those are not really "major things"
She is the same Good Girl she's been!!!
That makes Paul and I so happy.
We want her to be with us for a Long Long LONG time!!!
After Crystal has her appointment this week (hopefully I will be well enough to take her )
and then Delores needs a check up and blood work in March.. I wanna get Lolita in again for a check up and maybe a blood draw to see how she is doing...
But over all I think she is doing pretty good!!!
We were finally able to get them to the park today.. We've both been very sick for the past 2 weeks...
They had a really good time. I will tweet some pictures.. but here are a few of Lolita...
Doesn't she look happy!!???
She is such a great dog.
Please continue to keep her in your thoughts. I know some day the day will come when we have to say goodbye.. but for now we are loving her and enjoying every day that we have!!
Until next time friends..
Much Love... Paul & Lisa
